Pidgin + WhatsApp on Slackware

WhatsApp is a nice little tool to stay in contact with your friends, privacy issues set aside.

The only problem I have with it so far is that it only runs on my phone. I’m at my computer very often and I am using pidgin to stay in contact with people that use all kinds of messengers.

Using whatsapp-purple, that is possible on Slackware now, too. It even supports images, videos, group chats and more.

I have created a SlackBuild you can use to build the program. After installing, you’ll still need to get your password – the simplest solution to do that, is using

wine wart.exe gui
